Now that Covid 19 has reminded us of our fragility, this painting of a decaying leaf seems an appropriate metaphor for the impermanence of all things. It reminds me that all life is energy, and all electrical attraction decays over time. To me, this is form returning to stardust, from which all things are made.

I’m happy to report that this painting was selected by the curatorial staff of the Butler Institute of American Art to be shown at my upcoming solo exhibition titled Pattern and Realism, Looking for the Big Picture opening this March in Youngstown, Ohio.
