Wind at the Door
I'm so delighted that this painting of leaves left on my sisal doormat after a day of wind has been acquired by The Butler Institute of American Art for their permanent collection. Their director and chief curator, Lou Zona, called it “extraordinary.” He also called me “one of the premier painters in America.”
The Butler was founded 100 years ago in Youngstown, Ohio, and was the first major museum dedicated solely to American art. They have an extensive collection and belong to a network of museums that loan work from their collections to other museums for exhibition.
I'm honored to be chosen for their collection. It makes me feel so good when one of my children finds a good permanent home.
